About Jane
Jane Bodine is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has been in private practice in Naperville starting her 36 th year. In March 2020 all individual sessions were moved to a telehealth platform to insure the
safety of my family and all of my clientele. The telehealth platform facilitates individuals from farther away to seek counseling. It affords more time in the office and less travel time. For hoarders, I can see your rooms in your home, which increases transparency about the level of clutter in your home. For children, telehealth facilitates less travel time to and from the office with busy schedules after school.
Jane is a therapist who specializes with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (home visits for contamination issues and hoarding), Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorder (Trichotillomania and Dermatillomania, Tourettes, Body Dysmorphic Disorder), as well as Panic Disorders, Phobias, Anxiety Disorders, and Depression. Emetephobia is a disorder I presented about for the first time in the IOCDF history, at a national conference.
Jane's methods of treatment are Exposure Response Prevention and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, the treatments of choice for OCD. For Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder Habit Reversal Therapy is utilized. She also provides consultation to schools, colleges, and businesses when individuals have neurological disorders and need accommodation. In the past. home visits were conducted all over the state of Illinois for hoarding and for OCD.
Jane cofounded an organization in Chicago, formerly called The Obsessive Compulsive Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, in 1994. It is now been subsumed by the ADAA. She served as VP until 1997. She has presented at IOCDF and TLC conferences on 504 and IEP Accommodations, Emetephobia, Hairpulling, and Dermatillomania.
She conducted specialized groups for children (6-8th grades, 9th-12th grades) and adults for OCD and Skin
Jane provides therapy for individuals and families, and she works with children through adult ages. She uses methods that include habit reversal, cognitive behavior therapy, and exposure and response prevention.
In April 2011 she served as an Expert Hoarding Therapist on TLC’s Hoarding Buried Alive with “Maggie”.
